Heard a story that Facebook is going to end on March 15th (read it here)? You should take it with a pinch of salt.
A story is spreading like wildfire across Facebook this weekend, claiming that the world’s most popular social network is going to shut down on March 15th. The reason? CEO Mark Zuckerberg claims that “managing [Facebook] has ruined my life. I need to put an end to all the madness.”
There’s only one problem with the story. It’s not true. Facebook is not going to end on March 15th. This is why:
1- Facebook is not just Mark’s Zuckerberg property. He holds only 24% of total shares. So, he can’t take a decision like closing facebook alone.
2- If he is tired from managing facebook, he can step down as CEO and there are thousands of people dying to be CEO of just a small company.
3- Facebook is very profitable with 2 billions dollars in revenue for 2010. So Facebook shareholders will not let this source of money go down that easy. There are thousands of people including me dying to buy some shares of Facebook. So Mark, if you are tired of facebook sell me some of your shares. Better, if you are not interested in money, donate them to me 🙂
Next time, try to think twice before believing these hoaxes! Take care of the sheep effect again!
