In a previous post, I explained a methodology I am using to check the current position of the Euro rates against the US dollar in a historical perspective. I have developed a software based on a database from Forex of the euro rates, that can draw the historical frequencies of euro rates against dollar.

Here is the frequency for 2012:

Image,

The blue line is the number of occurences of each value normalized to 100: the value that has the maximum occurences of the Euro in 2012 is the 100 and the other values are less. The orange line is the cumulative frequency. It shows how much percent of the time the euro rate has been less than the corresponding value.

So in 2012:

  • Minimum rate was 1.20.
  • 25% of the time the euro was under 1.2575.
  • 50% of the time the euro was under 1.292.
  • 75% of the time the euro was under 1.3124.
  • Maximum rate was 1.34863.

Overall, here is the figure:
